Having zero luck with Sabnzbd and RSS
« on: May 16, 2007, 12:23:17 PM »

I have loads of RSS feeds put into sab, and to begin with I got a couple of downloads, but now they just don't download any new files, and considering I have about 13 feeds operating it seems very strange that none seem to work.... Is anyone else experiencing the same problems? Is it sab or newzbin? Cheers.

I have found that it is best to use a search that gets the attributes you want then a REGEXP to identify the report(s) you want

an example of what you would like might help

Those are for 350mb, will that only download it once or will it download every 350mb version uploaded? For example a.b.mm and a.b.tv (the irc channels) both upload each episode individually. And then there's the reposts. Or does it just download the one time?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.

The only difference in mine is that I do not identify the episode numbers on my tv shows, would that make a difference? As for my other feeds, they match everything, how can I fix these? Thanks.

Ha! I got it working for tv shows, but have discovered the strangest bug, when it finds an episode it loads the post in and deletes the RSS feed? wtf?

I did set it to false, I wasn't aware this deleted the feed, I just thought it didn't match multiple files, doh! Maybe all my feeds will start working now that I have set them to match multiple  :-[

It will download every 350MB ep posted in a.b.tv that matches so yes you will get multiples if it is posted twice, I'm not too concerned though, it's a small price to pay if it means I can take lost to work with me in the morning, also if a release is nuked then it gets the proper

You can get rid of duplicates using yahoo pipes. It's pretty simple.

First create a Newzbin saved search that gets what you want. Say for example I want standard TV posts:

Group: a.b.tv
Size: 150-450
Codec: Divx,Xvid

With the actual search I can select my shows, say I want Scrubs, House and Veroncia Mars. To get the current seasons I would search for:

"Scrubs - 6" or "House - 3" or "Veronica Mars - 3"

Save the search, run it and get the RSS feed link. Then go to Yahoo pipes.

Create a new Pipe.

Add the Sources: Fetch Feed module, paste the Newzbin URL in the url field.

Add the Operators: Unique module. Connect the Fetch Feed module to the top of the Unique module.

The module will fetch the feed and the "based on" box will fill out with options to filter by, select item:title in the drop down box. Then connect the bottom Unique module node to the Pipe Output module.

That's it, your done. Now all you have to do is save the pipe, Run the pipe, when the results are returned click Subscribe and get the RSS for the pipe.

Put that RSS into SAB.

I wish this would work.  But there is an issue with yahoo pipe not being able to fetch the RSS feed ((403 Forbidden))

any other solution to filter out duplicate ?

Why use yahoo to create rss feeds when Newzbin provides them?
In fact, they provide ATOM, RSS and CSV feeds.

Make a saved search that suits your needs. Make a few, if needed.
View each search, in the left side panel there will be a feeds section. Copy the RSS feed link, enter it in Sab.

Then go to Sab Options, Config, Switches and make sure "Do not download same job twice" is ticked.

Yahoo Pipes is nice because it gives you the ability to do complex filtering with an intuitive user interface. Unfortunately, you can't use pipes with Newzbin anymore, and haven't been able to for about a year now.
