I've not found the link from the V3 site - I've looked but if it is there it is difficult to find. The only reason I've found this site is because the current news item has a link to it. I've had to bookmark it separately so I'll be able to return! If more users are needed, then a link on the front page is the very least that needs doing. I'm sure that would bring more people in here.

so far today (4pm GMT) 15 users have registered, i believe this is due to the link in the current news item as well, if you check the members list, there hasn't been double figures registering in a single day in a long time.

  Regarding a permenant link, it has been suggested on page 1 of this thread so I'm sure its being mulled over.

This forum is totally unrelated to NewzBin, except for the fact that newzBin is being discussed here.
NewzBin had its own forum, unfortunately they had to shut that down. Direct PermaLink to this forum is not possible, due to legal reasons.

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but surely for legal reasons, all that you need is a disclaimer stating pretty much word for word the first line of your post.  Now if its just an issue of the Newzbin owners not wanting to be associated with this forum for non-legal reasons (Newzbin being purely for indexing reason then its more understandable.)

If i was you, I would definately look into some new forum software, phpbb3 is close to full launch. I would also look into a permanent domain (newzforums.com?) - this might make it easier for people to remember the URL. Also, sending out regular emails (latest posts, news, guides etc) will drive people back to the forum.

One final point, you have 13 forums, all uncategorised, most are pointless, maybe get rid of some, and categorise the others? I would lose Newbie Central, Forum Announcements, Forum Suggestions, Computer hardware, and Newbie Central. I would create a new forum for Forum Info for announcements, suggestions, and other info, I would merge Newzbin and Usenet discussion, aswell as Newsgroup Clients and Newsgroup Providers. I would also merge Movie and Gaming sections, renaming it to 'Movie, Music and Games Reccomendations'.

I know it seems like alot is dissapearing, but unless the forums are being regularly used, whats the point in them? If the board gets busy again, then you can slowly reintroduce certain forums.

Also, a quick Q, are we allowed to link to a post on newzbin? Maybe start a new section about reccomended newzbin reports?
