Why older files are more slower to download?
« on: February 13, 2010, 08:10:11 AM »

I'm just wondering the technical issue... why the older binary files (f.ex. 135 days old) are more slower to download than the new ones?

I noticed with astraweb (european server with SSL) that I could download a 135 days old file around 1000KB/s and the new ones came over 3000KB/s.

I switched to UseNetServer.com and noticed the same speed issue, but they could offer better speed for older file (2500-2700KB/s). New files maxed my connection with both providers.

I switched to UseNetServer since it was 1 dollar cheaper (10$/m) and could offer better speed for older files.

Never noticed this myself. Used Astraweb and Usenetserver before but not anymore. Strange.
